About Tokyo Corners
While running along the Sumida River, I noticed visitors taking photos with the river and Tokyo Skytree behind them.
There were not many people around, and I thought it might be hard to find someone to photograph the whole group. I offered to take a picture. Seeing how happy they looked made me want to help visitors experience and enjoy more of Tokyo.
That's why I started Tokyo Corners. Asakusa is a wonderful place, and I want to share more than the places geared toward visitors: the everyday places, food, people and experiences that those of us who live here appreciate. I hope they help you discover more of the city and enjoy your time here.
I live in Asakusa with my wife and young daughter. I've lived in Tokyo for more than a decade, including time in Kichijoji, and work has taken me to Nihonbashi, Marunouchi, Tsukiji, Shinjuku and Shibuya.
My wife and I love eating out and visiting cafés. With our daughter, I also look for spacious, relaxed places where we can all feel comfortable and enjoy ourselves, even in a city that can be crowded and compact. Here, I share those experiences and the Tokyo I know.
