# Tokyo rest-spot research inventory

[Download the CSV](./tokyo-rest-spots-2026-11-06.csv) · Research checked November 6, 2026

This is a list of 26 places and projects selected while researching the Tokyo Corners article [Where Can You Sit Down in Tokyo?](/stories/where-to-sit-in-tokyo/). It combines municipal and operator guides, dated plans, news reports, studies and visitor accounts. Some records are historical or describe temporary arrangements. It is not a census, a map of exact seats, or a list of currently vacant or guaranteed-accessible places. A place missing from this list is not evidence that no seat exists there. The records do not support comparing the total number of seats between neighborhoods.

We checked the linked published materials on November 6, 2026; we did not conduct a complete field survey. A source's publication or page-update date is not necessarily the date its seating was observed. Hours, use rules, installations and access can change, so confirm with the operator before relying on a particular place. A free venue admission, building hours, or a statement that a place was designed for public use does not necessarily establish the rules for every individual seat. Walking estimates, where recorded, are to a named facility rather than a verified seat or accessible route unless stated otherwise.

Each row represents a selected place or project, not a single seat or a number of people who can sit. Some records refer to neighboring or connected properties and may overlap geographically. Some describe indoor or rooftop seating, others outdoor or timed street seating. Historical data and planned projects are included as leads and are marked as such. There are no coordinates or live occupancy measurements in the file.

## Columns

| `checked` | Date the research team checked the published sources, in `YYYY-MM-DD`; not a field-survey or live availability date. |

The CSV contains our own factual descriptions and links; rights and reuse conditions for the linked third-party documents, photographs and maps remain with their respective providers. It does not include or grant rights to reproduce those materials.
